At 12 years old, many of the youth we serve have already been labeled. Disruptive. Difficult. At-risk.
What you don’t see is what came before that label, the instability, the community volatility, the lack of structure, the absence of consistent guidance. For many, it’s shaped by the environments they’re growing up in, communities where safety isn’t always guaranteed, where exposure to violence, instability, and difficult choices is part of everyday life. Without consistent structure and guidance, they’re often left to navigate challenges on their own.
