Biography
Lennox "The Lion" Lewis, CBE, CM, is a former undisputed and 3x heavyweight champion of the world and one of the most respected figures in the history of boxing. Known for his disciplined fighting style, strategic intelligence, and commanding presence in the ring, Lennox built a career defined by excellence, resilience, and leadership.
Early in his life, Lennox experienced many of the same challenges faced by young people growing up in underserved communities. As a young athlete, he benefited from the guidance, encouragement, and generosity of mentors and coaches who believed in his potential and helped create opportunities for him to succeed. Those experiences shaped his enduring belief that mentorship, structure, and support can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. He often credits the discipline of boxing and the mentorship he received early in his career as critical forces that shaped both his character and his success.
After retiring from professional boxing in 2004 as the last undisputed heavyweight champion, Lennox turned his focus toward philanthropy and youth development. As Co-Founder of the Lennox Lewis League of Champions Foundation, he is committed to continuing that legacy by sharing the blueprint of discipline, perseverance, and leadership with the next generation.
Through the Foundation’s Knights in the Ring™ Initiative, Lennox supports programs that combine boxing, mentorship, and life-skills development to help young people build confidence, strengthen character, and pursue positive paths in life.
Today, Lennox continues to use his global platform to champion mentorship, discipline, and the transformative power of boxing, helping inspire the next generation of leaders both inside and outside the ring.
