KNIGHTS IN THE RING INITIATIVES

At LOCF, we tackle the pressing issue of at-risk youth lacking access to safe and enriching after-school and summer programs. The way children and youth utilize their leisure time plays a crucial role in shaping their behavioural and social learning processes.

Unfortunately, in underserved communities, many young people face significant gaps in their schedules after school and during summer breaks, often finding themselves with idle time and limited access to enriching activities. This lack of structured engagement can hinder their self-efficacy, putting both their physical and psychological safety at risk.

Through our Knights in the Ring Initiative, we offer transformative experiences designed to empower young minds. Our awe-inspiring, FREE summer boxing INTENSIVE camps provide a unique blend of structured, engaging boxing and life-skills activities in a disciplined and supervised environment that prioritizes fun.
In addition, we host thoughtfully crafted after-school recreational sports activities and dedicated homework help sessions, ensuring that every participant receives the support they deserve.
The Knights in the Ring Initiative turns summer into a season of focus, growth, and joy for youth—where they can build skills, create lasting friendships, and discover their full potential through our FREE summer boxing INTENSIVE camps, FREE summer sports camps, and FREE after-school programs.

Research indicates that dismissal time on school days, between the hours of 3 PM and 7 PM, is a prime period for juvenile crime, as at-risk youth often find themselves without constructive activities or adult supervision.

During these hours, these young individuals are more likely to engage in violent crimes or become victims of such crimes and other dangers (Newman, Fox, Flyn, & Christeson 2000).
